Only the securities purchased during the class period are the subject of the litigation. Therefore, if you purchase securities only before or only after the class period, you would not qualify as a class member. However, the class period may be extended during the course of the case as the allegations are further developed, leaving open the possibility that your non-class period purchases may eventually fall within the definition of the class.
